The Capacity Building through Urban Infrastructure Development (CBUID) Project II
CBUID II aims to improve the implementation of integrated and socially inclusive urban development in selected governorates of Egypt. The integrated approach to urban development will be demonstrated through pilot measures to be selected in Alexandria and Giza that will combine improvements to infrastructure and basic services with measures to strengthen climate adaptation and promote local economic development. In addition, CBUID II will focus on supporting planning capacities and fostering the exchange of knowledge among key stakeholders.
The pro-active engagement of civil society organisations in the delivery of integrated urban development measures and knowledge exchange will play a crucial role in achieving CBUID ||’s overall objective. GIZ Egypt seeks to leverage the substantial expertise and local knowledge of civil society to ensure that integrated urban development measures are community-driven, responsive to local need and reflect the voices of local residents, in particular vulnerable groups, such as women, migrants, persons with disabilities, children and youth, etc.
