Information on processing of the data collected
General information
The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is a public-benefit service provider in the field of development cooperation with international operations. We work as a federal enterprise under private law. Our aim is to achieve the development-policy objective of improving the living conditions of people worldwide and conserving the natural resources on which livelihoods depend.
Platform Data
This website provides opportunities for funding that you choose to apply to voluntarily. The applications include a number of different formula fields. When you sign up to the website and consent to our data protection conditions, you agree to the data you enter being temporarily stored on the server. It is necessary to enter personal data for further processing. We keep the personal data requested to the absolute minimum for purpose of contacting grants applicants.
The data entered in the formula fields are stored on the server in order to provide you with a a plan of action for your grant applications (e.g., organizational profile, Project proposal, etc.). As soon as you start the application and enter an answer to the first question, a cookie is used to assign the data you enter to you, the project applicant. Cookies are small text files that are stored locally in your browser cache. Session cookies do not contain any personal data and expire at the end of each session. The data stored on the server only contain personal data if you enter such data in the text fields.
We do not use methods such as Java applets or ActiveX controls that would allow us to track your browsing behaviour.
Data is processed based on Art. 6 paragraph 1 a) of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) once you give your consent for the processing of the data entered.
Contacting Us
It is possible to contact the EOSD project via email address provided. In this case, at least the email address but also any other personal user data transmitted with the email (e.g. family and given name, address) as well as the information contained in the email are stored solely for the purpose of contacting the user and processing the request.
Recipients of personal data
- GIZ does not pass on personal data to third parties unless it is legally obliged or entitled to do so by law. Data received from applicants to grants might be passed on only to the project political partner, Egypt’s Ministry of Social Solidarity as the Egyptian authority governing non-governmental organisations. You will be explicitly asked for a consent on use of your data whenever your data will be shared with any other third party.
- As a general principle, data will not be transferred to third countries.
Data retention period
Personal data are routinely deleted when:
- they are no longer needed for contractual purposes (for example, for grant agreements or service contracts)
- the persons in question have not given special consent
- statutory data retention obligations and periods do not require data to be retained for a longer period.
Your account data are deleted upon request submitted to ProjectEOSD@giz.de. The account data are automatically deleted 90 days after your last access to your account, given there are no contractual purposes for keeping your account data.
User rights
You are entitled to:
- Enquire about your personal data and their processing
- Have the data corrected if necessary, and request that processing be restricted, or that the data be erased
